[F·E·040] into the open

Polyphonies, acts of design, radical logics, and (Ugo La Pietra) in parentheses inverso x Fondazione Southeritage
The project hosts the proposals and cross-experiments of two studios working at the intersection of artistic exploration and the material, technical, social and discursive possibilities of design. The invited studios, SchiumaPostDesign and inverso, interpreted the research of Global Tools and the experience of the Open Design School with different approaches.
Following the sustainability guidelines drawn up by the foundation (www.southeritage.it/buone-pratiche), the works were designed and built specifically for the project. They reuse the exhibition structures previously designed and built by O.D.S. and used by Formafantasma, Liam Gillick and Pelin Tan for a project on archives in Basilicata.
Working through the repositories of the Open Design School, understood as archives of materials to be reused and updated, the studios reflect on the relationship between content and container in the construction of displays. They also examine, from a critical point of view, the methods and means of installation, seen not as a mere support for the work but as an active and radical artistic gesture.
