The project interprets the duplex as a single spatial organism, where the two levels are linked by a material and visual continuity. Cement floors and surfaces define an essential, homogeneous environment, free of formal hierarchies. The staircase becomes the focal point of the project: an architectural gesture that visually connects the floors through diagonal cuts extending along the upper-level corridor, building a continuous and directional sequence. At the center of the living area, a compact volume organizes the open-plan space. This block houses services and integrates functions, concealing furniture and the kitchen behind continuous surfaces, to preserve a minimal and controlled interpretation of the environment. The central volume is made with plasterboard panels treated according to an experiment we developed in the laboratory. Custom-made surfaces, colored with wine, transform the material into an architectural finish, bringing a material and narrative memory into the space.
